A piece of great news for all the tyrannized Ogadenis comes out of the lines of a Joint Statement issued by Ogaden´s two political parties, namely the Ogaden National Liberation Front and the Western Somali Democratic Party.

The groundbreaking news heralds a great future for the vast and terribly hit land of 5 million Somali Ogadenis that was treated with particularly inhuman cruelty by the criminal tyrant Meles Zenawi.

To complete discredit of Ass. Secretary of Jendayi Frazer and various irrelevant news analysts like Peter Pham, the merge of the two organizations deprives any commentator from the joy of disreputably joining the murderous Abyssinian Cannibal Zenawi in accusations of the ONLF as terrorist organization responsible for the killing of civilians.

The merge between the two parties clearly demonstrates that the only wish of all the Ogadenis is the secession from the abysmal Hell of Abyssinia, the national independence and the engagement in the path of freedom, democracy, national and cultural identity, re-habilitation, and socioeconomic progress and development.

Every accusation of the ONLF for terrorism falls apart, as you never have ´terrorists´ collaborating with non-terrorists. The UN and the world community have now to focus on Ogaden and the criminal deeds ceaselessly perpetrated there by the African Saddam Hussein, Meles Zenawi of Abyssinia; a special committee should be formed and visit Ogaden extensively and independently of any ´Abyssinian´ authorities. The tyrannical administration of Abyssinia, fallaciously re-baptized as ´Ethiopia´, should be forced to accept the arrival of the committee or face international embargo and even expulsion from the UN.

Members of the present US administration must make clear to the partial, biased and nefarious Ass. Secretary Jendayi Frazer that she cannot be allowed to further discredit the US and ridicule America´s reputation in Africa by disproportionally making ´noise´ for Mugabe´s grip on power (because he expropriated some acres of land from few white origin citizens) and keeping silent in front of the unspeakable atrocities perpetrated by Neo-Nazi Tigray Abyssinian dictator Zenawi´s thugs in Ogaden.

The Joint Statement was published in a new, informative Somali website, www.mareeg.com, as Somalis were always concerned with the fate of Occupied Ogaden, which is an inalienable part of Somalia that was illegally handed over by the departing British colonials to the Amhara pseudo-king, the notorious African tyrant Haile Selassie, during the period 1948 – 55.

I republish it here integrally, as it gives great courage ´for the final mile´ to all those afflicted by raping, incommunicado, merciless prosecution, educational – cultural – religious discrimination of all types, internal displacement, forced exile and to all those tormented due to the loss of relatives and friends because of extrajudicial killings and carpet-bombing effectuated by the military aircraft of the Neo-Nazi Abyssinian regime at Ogaden.

A great dawn for Ogaden is nigh!

Joint Statement Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) and Western Somali Democratic Party (WSDP)

Affirming that successive Ethiopian regimes have maintained a policy of denying the Somali people of Ogaden of their legitimate rights for self-determination.

Having witnessed the genocidal policies of the TPLF regime including extra-judicial killings, arbitrary arrest, burning of villages and other war crimes committed against our people including those who reside in Canbuule, Gadhmalu, Cundhufo, Harmukaale, Dhuure, Mooyaale , Hudeed and other central districts.

Noting the long standing animosity the TPLF regime holds toward ethnic Somalis in general throughout the Horn of Africa as demonstrated by war crimes committed by the TPLF regime in Somalia in general and Mogadishu in particular.

Following extensive discussions held in and outside of our country which began in 2006 resulting in a comprehensive understanding aimed unifying the struggle for the Self-Determination of the Somali people of Ogaden, the ONLF and the WSDP have resolved as follows:

1. To unify the WSDP and the ONLF into one political organization retaining the name of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF)

2. To increase the role of ethnic Somalis in the struggle both inside and outside of our country.

3. To augment the role of civil society in all aspects of the struggle.

4. To safeguard the territorial integrity of our country.

5. To intensify the armed struggle in order to realize full self-determination and freedom for ethnic Somalis.

The leaders of the ONLF and WSDP call upon all ethnic Somalis to participate in the struggle for the liberation of our country in order to finally bring to an end the suppression of the Somali people of Ogaden by successive Ethiopian regimes.
