Helicopter Event Set to Return to Hansen Dam

California Desk
Buckle up for high-flying excitement when the American Heroes Air Show returns to the Hansen Dam Sports Complex in the San Fernando Valley.

Since 1993, this admission-free event has been dedicated to educating the public about the unique capabilities of helicopters in law enforcement, fire service, public safety, national defense and homeland security. Exclusively featuring helicopters from local, regional, state and Federal / DOD organizations, your family is treated to an up-close look at why these aircraft and their crews are on the front line of emergency preparedness, public safety and homeland security.

Explore the evolution of helicopters from elegant lines of the U.S. Coast Guard HH-60 "Jayhawk" featured in the Kevin Costner film: The Guardian, to the life-saving, Hi-Tech muscle of the S-70 "Firehawk" helicopter from Los Angeles CO. Fire Dept / Air Squad. It's a unique opportunity to introduce your family to the air crews that were on the front lines of defending the Southland against the recent fires and learn why these aircraft are the first tool out of the toolbox in times of natural disaster and why their crews are the local Heroes your family can really look up to!

Land your team early so you don´t miss the exciting arrival of the "Rollin´ to the Rescue" parade of vintage fire and emergency service vehicles as they come up Foothill Blvd with lights and sirens before their static display – plus guests are welcomed with the flag decorated descent of the LASD Golden Stars parachute team along with L.A. City Fire Department´s stirring red, white and blue precision water drop.

Plus, have your camera ready and introduce your entire crew to many of the Southland's most well known celebrity / media pilots and news reporters plus get an up-close look at the aircraft you see them in every day for traffic and news reports.
