Why Celebrities, Sports Figures and Politicians Cheat on their Mates
Why do celebrities cheat?
Why, indeed, do so many celebrities, sports figures, politicians, and other rich and famous spouses cheat on their mates?
Infidelity expert, Ruth Houston can tell you why. Houston is the founder of www.InfidelityAdvice.com and author of the popular infidelity book, Is He Cheating on You? 829 Telltale Signs. She has been researching and writing about infidelity for the past 15 years.
Below, Ruth Houston, a New York infidelity expert who is frequently called on by the media to comment on celebrity infidelity, high profile infidelity court cases, and infidelity issues in the news, cites a few of the reasons why celebrities cheat:
Peer pressure
Rock stars or sport figures like A-Rod, Roger Clemons or Michael Jordan who are constantly surrounded by adoring fans may feel that cheating with one of their many admirers is the norm
Ego Embellishment
Non-celebrity spouses, like Peter Cook who are married to famous wives like Christie Brinkley often cheat for what I call "ego embellishment reasons." They want to be the center of attention, or feel important or more special than their mates.
A sense of entitlement
Many celebrities, corporate executives politicians like Eliot Spitzer, and other prominent individuals feel that because of who they are, they can cheat on their mates with impunity.
Opportunistic sex
An opportunity presents itself for them to cheat without getting caught. So they take advantage of it like Jude Law did when he cheated on Sienna Miller with his childrenīs nanny.
To satisfy their curiosity or desire for a different type of sex.
Former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey who confessed to being gay, when his same-sex infidelity with an aide was about to be exposed.
The knowledge that they can get away with it
Many cheating husbands like Bill Clinton have extramarital affairs because they know their wives will put up with their behavior.
Revenge
Many famous cheaters like Valerie Bertinelli and New York Governor David Paterson have extramarital affairs to get revenge on a cheating spouse.
These are just a few of the many reasons why celebrities cheat on their mates.
