Ventura County Ballet Co.'s Cinderella Tea fundraiser serves ballerinas, families

VENTURA, CA - Tea with Cinderella and her prince on April 26 at the Elks Lodge in Ventura included special treats, the opportunity for little princesses to have their photograph taken, plus plenty of cookies, tea and cakes for all to enjoy.

The fundraiser benefitted the VCBC and its upcoming performances of Cinderella, The Ballet June 6-7 at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center.

Dancers from Ventura County Ballet Company also attended the event, joining Cinderella and her prince in a court of honor to preside over the tea.

"We surpassed our goals and expectations on all fronts and are very encouraged by the positive feedback from attendees," said Eileen Riddle, president of the board of the Ventura County Ballet Company. "The day was magical, a return to simpler times with girls in their Sunday best, waving glittering wands and a room full of smiles. But what I loved most was seeing every child dancing with Cinderella...they were all glowing."

"We are excited to see the first year of our tea was a sellout," said Lori Swanson, Red Shoes chairperson and board member of the Ventura County Ballet Company. "We especially enjoyed seeing many generations of families together, grandmothers, daughters, granddaughters, even great-granddaughters."

Choreographed by Rodney Gustafson, artistic director of the State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara, the VCBC´s variation of Cinderella, the Ballet will incorporate thrilling, special effects. The cast will include VCBC and professional dancers, including superstar dancer Australian Aaron Smyth as Prince Charming and prima ballerina Jennifer Rowe as Cinderella.

Denise has 29 years of hands-on experience in direct mail, newspaper, radio, network television and station management. Her trend analysis, brand work, and work stratagem media packaging delivers outstanding and cost effective results. She is dedicated to her client´s success. Denise is responsible for developing branding and marketing strategies and maintaining client relations.

Jennifer Curtis, Senior Vice President / General Manager
Jennifer´s diverse background includes 15 years of experience in marketing management and graphic design with work in the video game industry and with Paramount Studios. Jennifer´s strength lies in her ability to create branding that translates seamlessly through a variety of media. Emily has 10 years of experience in creative design services. She has an exceptional ability to capture and express a company´s brand through the power of design and relate a cohesive message throughout all facets of corporate communication from print to web and everything in between. Emily manages creative design development and oversees print and materials production.

Denise Hodgson, Office Manager / Media and Traffic Coordinator
