At Casa Pacifica, kids win with PODS
It started with one phone call, and that´s all it took to get PODS franchise owner Steve Yapp involved with Casa Pacifica and the many children it serves throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
"Steve Yapp contacted me over three years ago asking how he could help Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families. Usually we are soliciting help from businesses, so Steve coming to us was a great surprise," says Carrie Hughes, Assistant Director of Development. "After the initial phone call we invited Steve for a tour of the campus and that´s all it took. He is a member of our Casa Pacifica family and is one of the most generous individuals I know. We can always count on him and his staff to assist us with our needs for storage."
"Casa Pacifica is a very important organization to our community and I am proud to provide them with PODS storage containers," said Steve Yapp owner of three PODS franchises in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. "I am thrilled to help because our support has a direct impact on the kids and families who are part of the programs at Casa Pacifica. It is such a caring organization that one is compelled to be involved and donate time, money and resources when possible."
During the holiday season, Yapp donates five containers to store donated gifts, and has personally provided more than 25 gifts, including Xbox 360 consoles and games for the children. Most recently, as a major sponsor of Casa Pacifica´s annual Wine and Food Festival, four PODS containers stored supplies and silent auction items at the event to streamline planning and team efforts.
A designated PODS container remains onsite all year at Casa Pacifica´s facility in Camarillo for extra storage needs.
"PODS helps us tremendously since we have a lack of storage space on campus," said Hughes. "The donation of PODS containers by Steve saves Casa Pacifica thousands of dollars each year by not having to pay for off-site storage. We have access to the PODS at all times because they are stored on-site, plus PODS delivers and transports the PODS container wherever we need them."
