LA Labor Issues September Special Election Endorsements
The Federation unanimously voted to endorse Steve Bradford, a current Gardena City Councilmember. The special election in Assembly District 51 to replace former Assemblymember and current State Senator Curren Price is set to take place on September 1, 2009.
In addition, the federation arrived at a place of "No Recommendation" for the Los Angeles City Council District 2 special election to replace former City Councilmember and current City Controller Wendy Greueul. This special election has been set for September 22, 2009. A "No Recommendation" means that the Federation takes no position in this race.
The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO is the chartered Central Labor Council (CLC) of the AFL-CIO in Los Angeles County and is the second largest in the country, representing over 800,000 workers through over 350 unions.
