Town Hall Violence a Reason to Leave the Republican Party
Itīs all over the news. The few right-wing freaks left in the quickly dwindling Republican Party are disrupting town-hall meetings across this great country of ours because they donīt want poor people or average Americans to have quality health care.
They are shouting Americans down, damaging property, and perpetrating acts of violence against people because they donīt want Americans to speak or hear about our dire need for health care reform. The outrage expressed by these GOP activists is not genuine. Rather, it is orchestrated by leaders in the Republican Party, such as GOP leader and spokesperson Rush Limbaugh (who said he wants President Obama to fail).
Well, leave it to the Democrats to elect the first African American President of the United States, and leave it to the Republicans to "want him to fail."
These disruptions and acts of violence are among the many reasons why the Republican Party is declining. These are the reasons why the Republican Party is becoming irrelevant. These are the reasons why Democrats hold huge majorities in Congress and state legislatures across the nation. And these are the reasons why Democrats will increase their majorities in the years ahead.
What do the media reports of the disruptions and property damage show? They show that Republicans are not patriotic and that Republicans are not Democratic. The reports show that Republicans are little more than a few very vocal right-wing freaks who want our President, our military, and our nation to fail.
We know that these town-hall disruptions are organized by far-right organizations and are funded by shady, unreported sources. Their goal is to kill every attempt at health care reform and wound President Obama at a time our nation is at war and during the most horrific economic crisis the nation has ever faced an economic crisis that is the consequence of failed Republican policies implemented during the Bush-Cheney Administration.
A memo leaked to the media written by a leader of a right-wing fringe group called the "Tea Party Patriots" tells protesters to "Watch for an opportunity to yell out. The goal is to rattle him." But these Republicans are not patriots. Rather, they are anti-American hooligans and terrorist sympathizers. They are bent on yelling and shouting during town hall meetings run by members of the United States Congress who are holding these meetings to answer questions about the nationīs health care crisis. Since these Republicans canīt convince Americans to their backward way of thinking, they must, instead, resort to yelling, screaming, property damage, and violence. They cannot win the debate on health care reform, so they are preventing good people from speaking and listening to the debate.
So as you listen, observe, and understand the media reports of disruptions, property damage, and violence perpetrated by Republican Party activists against Americans, you should remember to never vote Republican.
If you are a Republican as I used to be and are likewise disgusted by these loud-mouthed Repugnant Republicans then you should go to your post office today and register as a Democrat. Do it today.
We know that President Obamaīs approval rating is the highest of any President at 200 days in office. His Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor was just confirmed by the United States Senate. President Obama and the Democrats are on a roll, while the Republican Party is facing a disastrous decline.
Why? It's embarrassing and humiliating to be a Republican. Americans are ashamed of GOP leaders like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and Ann Coulter (who called Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate John Edwards a "faggot"). It isn't enough that we had eight years of George Bush's failed presidency, eight years of war in Iraq, eight years of American soldiers dying for a lie, or scandal after scandal (ala GOP Governor Mark Sanford, GOP Senator Larry Craig, or GOP Senator John Ensign). We now have to deal with Republicans disrupting town hall meetings across America.
And speaking of Republican scandals, where were these Republican Party activists when it was discovered that Republican Party leader Mark Foley sent lewd and sexually explicit text messages to teenage Congressional pages while sitting in the U.S. House of Representatives? Well, where were your objections then, Republicans? Hypocrites. We heard the ABC news reports on October 5, 2002, that reported GOP icon Mark Foley invited a 17-year-old page to stay at his home in exchange for "oral sex." Where was your outrage about Mark Foley, GOP activists?
Yes, being a Republican is disgraceful, shameful, stupid, and un-American. Donīt be a Republican.
Donīt be an idiot and donīt vote for idiots.
