CEO puts her dancing shoes on for FOOD Share
With weeks of salsa dance training with dance partner Jesse Rodriguez, FOOD Share CEO Bonnie Weigel helped to raise more than $43,300 for FOOD Share through donations, winning the People´s Choice Award. The dynamic duo also took home the Judge´s Choice Award in the technical competition.
The Oxnard Salsa Festival, presented by the Oxnard Downtowners, 3rd Annual Dancing with Our Community Stars fundraising event raised $71,979 overall.
"FOOD Share is so grateful to The Oxnard Salsa Festival for inviting us to participate in such a great fundraising and community outreach opportunity," Weigel said. "It allowed us to engage the community in a light hearted-fulfilled manner while being able to educate and raise dollars for the work FOOD Share does each day."
"This official event of Oxnard Salsa Festival presents a very unique opportunity for our local non-profits to raise money," said Mary Anne Rooney, Dance Coordinator. "I am extremely proud of our stars and non-profits with the work they performed to raise this large amount of money."
