Watch TV Online in Canada

Don't think that just because you can't watch Hulu where you live in Canada that you are going to miss your favorite shows. Lucky for you, a lot of them are being shown on websites run by Canadian television networks. So you can watch your favorite episodes streaming online without having to resort to dodgy proxy servers and other ways to get around restrictions that tend to be short-lived.

It isn't just Canadian shows that stream either. If an American television show regularly airs on a Canadian TV station, then you can bet that you can probably watch it online in Canada too. Both daytime and evening shows can be found. Unlike Hulu and Youtube's new service, you won't be able to watch classic tv shows that have been airing in syndication for 20 or 30 years, but you should easily be able to keep up with all of your current favorite shows.

For example, CTV probably has the biggest selection of shows on their website, CTV.ca. You can watch Canadian series like Flashpoint and The Listener and Canada's Next Top Model. Or you can watch American shows like Fringe, Gossip Girl and Lost.

CTV isn't the only Canadian tv network streaming their shows online. GlobalTV.ca has a good selection as well, with shows such as the new 90210, Bones, House and Heroes.

Space, the Discovery Channel and City TV also have TV shows that you can watch online in Canada too. So you have plenty of Canadian Hulu alternatives to choose from. If you aren't in Canada yourself however, you are out of luck. Just like US network websites, the streaming content is usually restricted to national viewers only.
