JUST ANNOUNCED! Itzhak Perlman to perform at Ventura Music Festival´s 16th season
Winner of four Emmy Awards and 15 Grammy Awards, Itzhak Perlman is in constant demand around the world as both a violinist and conductor and enjoys superstar status rarely afforded to a classical musician.
On Saturday, May 1, Perlman will perform at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center. An elegant, pre-concert dinner and a presentation by Nuvi Mehta, Artistic Director of the Ventura Music Festival will highlight the evening. Tickets are available for advance purchase by calling 805-648-3146.
"As we continue our mission to bring great artists to Ventura, we are delighted to present Itzhak Perlman, one of the most beloved musicians, who has inspired us all for so many years," Mehta said.
In January 2009, Perlman participated in the Presidential Inauguration of President Barack Obama. Prior to this, he received the 1986 Medal of Liberty from President Ronald Reagan and a 2000 National Medal of Arts from President Bill Clinton. He also was a 2009 Kennedy Center Nominee and performed at a State Dinner for Her Majesty The Queen of England at The White House, hosted by President George W. Bush and First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush in 2007.
