Ninth Congressional District to Receive Over $61.5 Million in National Institute of Health Funding
The NIH funds biomedical research and research training programs at more than 3,000 institutions in the 50 states and territories. This disbursement is being made available through $5 billion in grants that Obama Administration issued under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to fund cutting-edge medical research projects throughout the country.
The $61.5 million in grants will fund projects at the following institutions:
16.4 million to fund 55 projects at the University of California at Berkeley
267,616 to fund one project at Aerosol Dynamic, Inc
226,130 to fund one project at the Bay Area Tumor Institute
10 to fund 13 projects at Children´s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland
425,304 to fund three projects at Ernest Gallo Clinic and Research Center
99,999 to fund one project at Iris AO, Inc
26.4 million to fund 21 projects at Kaiser Foundation Research Institute
582,661 to fund one project at U.S. Agricultural Research Service
6.4 million to fund 11 projects at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory
