GENTLEMEN! START YOUR ENGINES!

(VENTURA, CA) – It´s time to start your engines as Ventura Raceway drives hard to the chase to benefit Aspiranet foster children, siblings, and families at Ventura Raceway on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Each of five local businesses will place a local business owner driver from their company behind the wheel of a Cory Kruseman go-kart to duke it out on the dirt track. For every admission, Ventura Raceway will donate $2 to Aspiranet Ventura County, serving foster children and families throughout the community.

"Participating in this special event to benefit foster children and families is huge and we hope it will bring increased awareness of Aspiranet and the families it serves," said Jim Naylor, track operator of Ventura Raceway. "Any time we can help, and especially with children, we will. It is a huge opportunity for us to give back, and we are very honored to help."

Participants in the Community Go-Kart Challenge include:

Sam Hishmeh, franchise owner 17 Domino's Pizza stores in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties

Dan Burrell, franchise owner of eight Jersey Mike´s Subs

Jeff Wright, United Rentals

Craig Goettsche, owner-operator of Chik-Fil-A in Oxnard

Chris Raschke, ARP Automotive Racing Products

"The Go-Kart Challenge is a perfect fit for Aspiranet as we continue to secure awareness and funding for our dedicated service workers and families in our programming," said Art Chaparro, development director of Aspiranet. "We encourage everyone to come out, cheer on their favorite business and celebrity driver, and have a great night out at the races with family and friends!"

Gates open at 3pm with racing at 5:30pm. Admission is $14 for adults; $11 for seniors and military personnel; and $11 for students with school ID. Children under 12 are admitted free with a paying adult.
