Seeking contestants for Little Miss/Teen/Miss/Mrs. "Long Beach" & "Southern California"

Sun., Nov. 15 at The Grand in Long Beach. Sponsored by Community Action Team (CAT), Justin Rudd, and Choura Venue Services . "Long Beach" and "So. Cal." titles in each of four divisions: Little Miss (1st/2nd grades), Teen (14-18), Miss (19-29), Mrs. (21+). Elements of competition for Teen, Miss and Mrs. will include swimsuit, evening gown and interview. No talent competition. At least $6,500 in appearance contracts. Annual Halloween KIDS' COSTUME CONTEST on Sat., Oct. 31

COSTUMED KIDS are invited to lead the Haute Dog Howl'oween Parade this year and there will be a few $25 and $10 prizes to those kids with the best outfits. There is no charge to enter the kids costume contest, but a signed entry form by parent or guardian is required. Be at the parade start line (meet inside the kids playground front gates, corner of Livingston Dr. & Park Ave.) by 2:20 p.m. with your entry form. Haute Dog Howl'oween Parade

There will also be a Vendor & Pet Adoption Fair. It's the world's largest Halloween pet event and more than 600 dressed-up dogs are again expected this year. The 6-block parade is Halloween Day, Sat., Oct. 31, 2009, 2:30 p.m. and is co-sponsored by Justin Rudd, Haute Dogs and Councilman Gary DeLong. The start/finish is at Livingston Park, 4900 E. NOW: Earlybird discounts going on now for the Long Beach Turkey Trot 5K/10K run/walk

Community Action Team (CAT), Justin Rudd and Councilman Gary DeLong co-sponsor this event. More than 4,500 runners and walkers expected at the 7th annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K/10K & Kids' ½-Mile Wingding in Long Beach on Thurs., Nov. 26, 2009. There are three start times: 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. All proceeds benefit Long Beach's nonprofit 501c3 Community Action Team (C.A.T.). The $20 earlybird rate (by Nov. 1) is available by mail-in entry form only for any:

gov't worker,

teacher or full-time student,

military, fire, police or lifeguard

low income;

or, any group of 7 or more (so, gather co-workers, teammates, friends and family) w/ forms submitted together.
