Sierra Club Endorses Nadia Holober for Millbrae City Council

The Sierra Club has endorsed Nadia Holober for Millbrae City Council. Election Day is this Tuesday, November 3, 2009.

In its announcement, John Cordes, spokesperson for Sierra Club Loma Preita Chapter, outlined Nadia Holober´s leadership in making environmental issues a priority as a Millbrae Mayor and City Councilmember, including:

>> Piloting the waste grease power generation plant which reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

>> Approving mixed use development near Millbrae´s BART/Caltrain intermodal center.

>> Signing onto the Sierra Club´s Cool Cities campaign to reduce global warming.

Nadia Holober is the only candidate for Millbrae City Council that the Sierra Club has endorsed. Ms. Holober stated, "I´m thrilled to have earned the support of the nation´s largest grassroots environmental group. I look forward to working with the Sierra Club and the entire community to build on the ´Green Millbrae´ policies that our City has enacted."


The Sierra Club was founded in 1892 to advance environmental protection. The Loma Prieta Chapter includes San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Benito Counties.

Nadia Holober is the only candidate for Millbrae City Council endorsed by Congresswoman Jackie Speier. She is also endorsed by Senator Leland Yee, San Mateo County Labor Council, Millbrae Firefighters and hundreds of Millbrae residents.

Nadia Holober has chaired the San Mateo County Library Joint Powers Authority, and served on the League of California Cities Environmental Quality Policy Committee.

A licensed attorney, Nadia Holober is married and has raised her two sons in Millbrae´s public schools.
