In Ventura County, three elite organizations honored with Circle of Excellence Awards
(VENTURA, CA) – What prompted Stephen J. Kipp to create his firm´s Circle of Excellence Awards was actually the work of his clients who often asked for referrals to local businesses and other organizations.
"In a good or bad year there is no better way to do business than by referral, which is a win-win for everyone, especially in today's economy," Kipp says. "We take referrals seriously since the related experience with a business can and will affect our client relationships however, the referrals we do receive are solid and fits into the client family we have developed."
Once referrals are in, an advisory committee pours over nominations in consideration for the firm´s annual Circle of Excellence Awards, now in its second year, to recognize and support the local business community.
"We were faced with a comprehensive list of small businesses from a wide variety of industry, from dry-cleaners and restaurants to barber shops and clothing stores," Kipp said. "It was a difficult task to select our honorees. We are, however, pleased to recognize the Ventura College Foundation as our nonprofit of the year, Sherry Scott of Ted Mayr Funeral Home & Crematory as outstanding businessperson of the year, and founder-owner Kent Hardley of Pacific Stoneworks, Inc. as business of the year."
Winners were honored on Oct. 28 with a reception aboard the Scarlett Belle in Oxnard.
