Democracy for America Endorses Henry Vandermeir for DNC Delegate

BURLINGTON, VT – Democracy for America, our nation's largest progressive political action community, endorsed Henry Vandermeir for DNC Delegate.

As president of the California Democratic Council, Vandermeir has focused on bringing training and organizing resources to more than 400 clubs and counties across the state. He has been active in the California Democratic Party for 10 years and currently serves on the executive board.

"As a longtime activist and organizer, Henry will ensure that training and organizational resources are a priority on a national level, something that's a high priority for us at DFA," said Jim Dean, Chair of DFA. "We're confident he'll be a voice for progressive Democrats across California."

"He's also been a champion for key progressive issues like health care reform and marriage equality. We're proud to endorse his campaign for delegate."


Vandermeir has also worked on a variety of campaigns, including serving as Field Director for the DFA-endorsed Bill Hedrick for Congress campaign (CD-44).

Democracy for America is a key endorsement in local races like this one, bringing in donations from progressives and providing volunteers to participate in door-to-door, grassroots outreach. DFA has helped elect 578 progressives to office, from Senator Mark Begich in Alaska to Rep. Donna Edwards in Maryland´s 4th Congressional District.
