Columbus Went To Hell So Should His National Holiday
Numerous groups in Colorado are fed up with millions of their tax dollars paying for Columbus Day each year. "It's not celebrated." they are saying. "It's just another day off for state employees and department store sales." It's true. Most Americans could not care less for Columbus having a state or national holiday.
Seventeen states have dropped his holiday. No American Indian Nations support Columbus having a national holiday, especially when you look at the fact that there's not a federal national holiday recognizing American Indians and all they have endured to bring freedom to our country.
Each year the Columbus Day Parade held in Denver Colorado has been a big bust. Very few people turn out in support for the event. Reports each year state that there are more people protesting the Columbus parade than participating in the event.
For six years now, Colorado citizens have sent a very strong message to state and city governments representatives telling them to drop Columbus Day as a state tax paid holiday. Italian Americans also, are asking the state to change Columbus Day to Italian Heritage Day. Now there's something to think about.
American Indians are saying that the discovery of their true homelands is out of control, and that their true history and heritage is not being taught to our young school children in our nation's schools. They are saying a lot more that is not covered in this report, and there are many unpleasant truths to swallow about Columbus.
It's time for the Italian American community to rethink how they honor their national holiday. Columbus was arrested and taken out of the Caribbean Islands in chains for his cruelty toward Indian men, women and children. He was ordered never to return to the Americas. Is Columbus truly the man they as Americans want us all to celebrate?
To date, the federal government has not apologized for it's holocaust against American Indians.

Our Federal Government is still unwilling to pass a holiday bill calling for National Native American Day in our country.
