PODS Moving and Storage continues U.S. expansion, announces sale of Asheville, N.C. franchise

Tina Vervoorn
(CLEARWATER, FLA)– With successful franchise locations operating throughout the U.S., Australia and Canada, PODS Enterprises, Inc. (Portable Moving and Storage), today announced the sale of franchising rights for the Asheville, N.C. market.

"We are excited about opening the Asheville location. It was the last large market in the Continental U.S. where PODS did not have either company-owned or franchise operations. While we previously serviced Asheville from another location, servicing directly from Asheville, N.C. allows us to provide more flexible service at a better price," said Ann Lehman, senior VP franchise operations. "The owner/operators have operated a franchise in central Fla. since 2006, which will allow them to hit the ground running when they open in August."

"I am excited to start this new venture with PODS, servicing the local Asheville, Hendersonville and Waynesville communities," said Kelly Moore, manager of the Asheville franchise. Moore is a long-standing member of the local business community, having owned Carolina-based Carolina Crane in Franklin, N.C. for over 20 years.

Operations in Asheville, N.C. are tentatively scheduled to begin August 1, 2010.
