The True Face of “Dr.” Muhammad Shamsadin Megalomatis (A writer for American Chronicle) – Part one
If fellow historian (researcher) at a professor level doesn’t take into account all similar deeds of the world to defend his thesis, rather stick only on one selected event, then I think, this person is failed early in his investigation to earn the title “Historian, Scientist, Philosopher”. With such level of understanding (may be undergraduate student senior essay level) one could be eligible to serve as a propagandist (spokes person) for the implementation of a political party program as “Dr”Megalomatis is doing, not more. That is all and all. As the saying goes we have to be able to say a spade-spade.
Should one have to use insulting words and all vulgar terms to write history? Is that historical or Vulgarism science? I say others will never respect a Vulgar who refused to be respected like Megalomatis. Of course as a saying goes “birds with the same feather flies together”, he may earn respect from some individuals with similar behaviour.
After the release of the above mentioned article. I received a lot of positive and some negative reactions from the readers. I will not concentrate on positive comments as the article it self tells the story. Rather I would like to bring the attention of my readers to see the true face of the so-called “Dr. Muhammad Shamsadin Megalomatis.
Megalomatis wrote
(http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=38659)
The Abyssinians started building their Monophysitic Christian churches throughout Oromia, while massively changing Oromo toponymics by renaming them in Amharic. Oromo personal names were forcefully changed to Amharic personal names as well. Young kids, forced to join the Abyssinian educational apparatus, were required to rename themselves in Amharic. The same was dictatorially applied to Oromians who applied for professional occupation in the administration.”
The Graduate from “Dr” Megalomatis School of evil-thought, Obbo Bakkalcha Bariissa wrote, (http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=40658) and through emails directly to me.
I ...have a respect for all humanity but you and your fathers do not deserve it. You claim to be an Oromo now when you see my name (Bakkalcha Bariissa) I am proud to be an Oromo. You the settlers who brought the evil deeds and sins to our motherland will be wiped out soon. You must apologize to this great scholar and repent for your deed before you are forced to do so.
My refutation to both the above statements:
This is absolutely rubbish to write there was a rule to change the names of Oromo into other names. This is what “Dr” Megalomatis didn’t discover in his undergraduate senior essay how the names are called in Ethiopia especially in urban areas. It is clear that Bible influenced on some parents to name their children. Apart from the bible there are names usually used in urban areas, if at all, if it is possible to categorize them as “modern names” especially among youngsters. These names are not customized to one ethnic group rather are used by all. If you go to in countryside of Amhara region you may not find such names like the town people. The same way you can’t find an Oromo countryside man or woman by the names similar to urban areas. From this I think what we can understand is, that names were and are not forced to be called or renamed, instead that was and is a voluntary decision of the parents of any ethnicity in Ethiopia. More over how many percent of from the Oromo or other population changed or used Amharic names???
The core points which I need to bring to the attention of my readers in this piece of writhing are: If “Dr” Megalomatis and his confused students are really worrying about the original names of Oromos, then why they stick and stand stiff only on some of those who have “Amharic or Christian like” names? Why they didn’t see the biblical names across the people of southern Ethiopia and some parts of Oromia, which is highly influenced by Protestant Missionaries from abroad? Why they didn’t see the vast majority of people in Oromia - south, east and west part of the region, which converted in to Muslim religion by the force of Muslim invaders? Although I don’t support it to raise the name issue as a point of political debate, why they didn’t ask the name “Fatuma” to be changed in to “Chaltu” or Mohammad (the writer) in to “Bedasso”??? I think it should be investigated further in the future.
I think the writer the so-called “Dr” Megalomatis M.S. and his confused students are incompetent to write or talk about history or philosophy at large. The very simple points that I mentioned above are clear enough to be understood even for medical people leave alone for historians. I hereby would like to request all readers to be informed that “Dr” Megalomatis and his students are the two sides of a cent.
Apart from their incompetence of historical analysis, they are charged with evil-mind not to listen when they are told the truth. They are preparing to wipe out the Ethiopian people from the earth. As a matter of fact there are real evidences of evil-minded group’s barbaric action in ARBAGUGU and BEDENO, I think 1991-92 where a lot of innocent poor peasants, who were accused of being highlanders were thrown alive down to the gorge river and killed. I know if this evil-minded group members could have been stayed long, there have been a lot of blood shade than ever before in the history of Ethiopia. Thanks to God the evil-minded groups were eliminated by the peace loving my Oromo people. I hereby call to my genuine Oromo brothers to stand firm shoulder in shoulder as usual to disclose the evil and push it apart.
My being is proud Oromo not my name.
