For Thanksgiving, Give Thanks If You Have a Faithful Mate

Ruth Houston
This Thanksgiving, if you have a faithful mate, you have a lot to be thankful for.

With the number of cheating spouses now at epidemic proportions, faithful mates appear to be in very short supply. Infidelity in some form -- emotional infidelity, internet infidelity, same-sex infidelity, workplace infidelity, female infidelity -- now affects 80% of all marriages and committed relationships today

Statistics Say Most Husbands and Wives Cheat

As an infidelity expert whose ongoing infidelity research spans almost 15 years, and founder of InfidelityAdvice.com, I often come across alarming statistics from infidelity studies:

55% to 75% of men (married and single) cheat on their mates.

female infidelity has increased 50% in the past 10 years.

60% of husbands and 40% of wives will have an affair at some point during their marriage.

False Assumptions About Faithful Mates

Most marriage mates automatically assume that their partner is faithful. But a look at the statistics will prove that very few spouses or significant others can truthfully make that claim. Husbands and wives who honor their marriage vows have become the exception, rather than the rule. The vast majority of husbands and wives are cheating on their mates.

Still the Last to Know

As author of a popular book on how to spot the signs of infidelity, ( Is He Cheating on You ? – 829 Telltale Signs, what disturbs me most are the studies indicating that most infidelity victims are oblivious to the fact that their spouse is having an affair. In this day and age, the betrayed spouse is still the last to know.

In one study, 70% of married women and 54% of married men whose spouses were cheating on them had no idea their marriage mate was having an affair.

Another study found that 60% of the people who admitted to cheating, said their partner did not know about their affair.

Cheaters ALWAYS leave signs behind

Since cheating spouses ALWAYS leave signs behind, I attribute this to a failure to recognize the subtle signs of infidelity. Most cheaters will cover up the obvious signs, but there are many, many subtle signs just waiting to be found. Obviously knowing what to look for is the key. Unfortunately, the husband or wife who’s unfamiliar with the many subtle signs of infidelity will always be the last to know.

How to Know for Sure if Your Mate is Faithful

So if you know your partner is faithful, give thanks. You can see from the statistics above that faithful mates are few and far between.

But what if you’re not quite sure you’re one of the fortunate few with a faithful mate?

What if you’re one of the millions of unsuspecting people who are blissfully unaware that their spouse or significant other is having an affair?

Then be thankful you read this article. Make it a point to become familiar with the subtle signs of infidelity that most infidelity victims overlook.
