Healthy Weight Loss - Five Dieting Tips for Losing Weight

Emma Martin
Before all of our technological innovations, people didn't have quite so many problems with obesity and excessive weight gain. Prior to the industrial revolution, most people did a lot more manual labor than they do today. People from that era did not worry about what kinds of food they ate because they were actually burning significant amounts of calories during their daytime work.

But these days, the sedentary way of life and the convenience brought about by machines, computers, cars and instantaneous communication make people accumulate fat all over the body. That's just one of the reasons we're all currently obsessed with losing weight and how best to achieve weight loss while remaining healthy.

If you follow these tips for healthy weight loss though, you'll start to get rid of that excess fat:

  • Make sure to drink eight glasses of water at a minimum each day. Water is the universal solvent and is needed by the body to flush out all the unnecessary and harmful toxins. It would be advisable if you would immediately drink a glass of water after you wake up.

In weight loss, water plays an important role. Drink lots of water before every meal so you will already feel full and not tend to indulge too much in sumptuous meals. Diet experts also assert that drinking another glass of water during every meal strategically makes you feel already stuffed so you would not dare to take in more food.

  • Don't let sodas and soft drinks became part of your meals. As much as possible, scrap those sweetened drinks when eating. The sugar content of such drinks accumulate in the body and get stored as fats that bloat the tummy and other body parts.

  • In your meals, include fruits that have 90% to 95% water content, such as tomatoes and watermelons. Even if you feast on these fruits, you surely would not gain weight because they are almost entirely made of water, which eventually gets flushed from your system.

  • Do not substitute fruit juices for actual fruits. Processed fruit juices contain preservatives and artificial colors and flavorings that are bad for the body and often contributing to weight gain. And natural fruit juices are still loaded with the sugar from the fruits and nearly devoid of the fiber content that makes them so healthy and filling.

  • Eat more fiber-rich foods. As you all know, the human body requires high amounts of fiber for tissue building and better waste excretion. Fruits and vegetables are the usual and most generous sources of fiber. Such foods not only do not lead to excessive weight gain, but they will also help you reach your healthy weight loss goals because they are easily digested and consist of high-value nutrients and vitamins rather than empty calories.
