VENTURA COUNTY CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION DONATES $10,000 TO LOCAL CHARITIES
The Ventura County Contractors Association (VCCA) and its members are thrilled to have donates $10,000 in donations this year,” said Garry Oswald, president of the association. “Funds contributed to these non-profit organizations will stay local, helping people in our own neighborhoods.”
"Food, Clothing, Shelter and Health" is the thrust for VCCA’s Community Contributions Program. The committee in charge of the 2007 effort was chaired by Evonne Silvestri, an executive with Silvestri Construction in Ojai. VCCA Vice President Tommy Tatangelo of OST Trucks and Cranes and Bill Huff, president of William Huff and Sons Construction in Santa Paula assisted the efforts.
The committee receives input from the association’s board of directors, selecting groups that would benefit the most based on funds available. Money distributed this year was raised primarily through the association's annual golf tournament that took place in July at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo. Tournament participants donated over an above tourney costs as sponsors in various categories.
