Why Did Uwe Boll's Movie Goin' Postal Get Banned From Theatres?
The film was scheduled to be released theatrically nationwide, but will now open on only four screens in four cities next Friday, May 23rd.
"Theatrical distributors are boycotting ´Postal´ because of its political content," said Boll. "We were prepared to open on 1500 screens all across America on May 23rd. Any multiplex in the U.S. should have space for us, but they´re afraid."
There have been other movies with strong political stances and those movies weren't outlawed from movie theatres. I haven't seen the movie so I can't say whether it's a good movie or not my point is that I should be given the right to see the movie.
Once again we have the powers-that-be telling 300 million Americans what we can and can't see. It's the few making decisions for the many.
I think millions of people should show their anger at these so called powers-that-be that we are serious about stopping censorship in America.
I don't care what your feelings are about Uwe he deserves to have his movie played just like any other director. Maybe this movie will become even a bigger hit through DVD sales or internationally.
