WoW Rogue Macros - How to Use Rogue Macros in World of Warcraft
If you're not familiar with setting up macros, you can start out with some of my favorites here and then either set up your own combinations once you've figured out what works for your Rogue, or you can find tons more possibilities online. To use these macros, you can just copy and paste.
To get started with these Rogue macros, just type "/m" to open up the macro box and then select "new". Copy and paste the macro and then drag it over to the action bar and you'll be all set to use it.
Vanishing or Stealth Macro
This macro will help you vanish during combat. Outside of combat, you'll go into stealth.
/cast [nocombat] Stealth; Vanish
Ambush or Backstab Macro
You can use this macro when stealthed to ambush your target. If you aren't stealthed, use it to backstab instead.
/cast [stealth] Ambush; Backstab
Runaway!
If you need to ditch some mobs fast, then you can use this macro to flee.
/cast Sprint(Rank 2)
cast Evasion(Rank 2)
Weapons Swap macro
The weapons swap will come in handy a lot and you may want to set up several of these. This will swap between your main and off hand weapons.
#show 16
script PickupInventoryItem(16); PickupInventoryItem(17);
Now that you see how some macros work, you can try making some of your own WoW macros for your Rogue. Just remember to keep it simple. Macros will only let you cast one spell at a time because Blizzard doesn't want anyone completely automating their game-play. You also need to keep to a character limit of 255 characters. You can have 18 character-specific macros and 18 macros available to any character in your account at any one time so that will make 36 available for your Rogue to use.
