Is life on our planet facing another mass extinction?

Ian Brockwell
I read with some interest an article called "Sun's protective 'bubble' is shrinking", this refers to the protective shield of energy that surrounds our solar system (including Earth) called the "Heliosphere".

UFO and Space Merchandise - CLICK HERE for more detailsAlthough this "bubble" has shrunk by an amazing 25% in the last decade and was noticed much earlier than this, there has been very little news about it. Some may find that a little surprising, considering this shield protects us from "the harmful intergalactic cosmic radiation" that "would make life on Earth almost impossible by destroying DNA and making the climate uninhabitable."

Scientists believe that the amount of cosmic radiation reaching the Earth could increase if the heliosphere continues to weaken. This could in turn could cause disruption to electrical equipment, affect satellites, and more importantly, harm life on the planet.

Whilst we are assured that there is no "imminent danger", in truth no one knows for sure what the outcome will be.

To find out more, the recently launched Interstellar Boundary Explorer (or IBEX) will be listening for the shock wave that forms as our solar system meets the interstellar radiation. Scientists hope that this will help them to predict the future effects of this event.

It is of course very possible (and more than likely) that this "shrinking" will stabilize and return to normal, but the question will be when and how much worse will it become?

The reason for the shrinking is currently unknown, but it is believed that the heliosphere can be affected by other forces within our galaxy. This is a point I have raised in the past and made mention of it in my book. It is my belief that our solar system passes through an area in our galaxy that affects the Sun and all the planets in our system (hence the climatic changes we are, or have, experienced)

Our Solar System orbits our galaxy once every 250 million years (approximately) and it is interesting that a mass extinction occurred the last time this happened (just before the dinosaurs appeared). Is it possible that we are heading for a repeat of this event?

At this stage I would like to speculate a little (well, a lot actually). Many have written about something called "Chemtrails", this is the process of spraying chemicals into the atmosphere. Some insist that these are nothing more than "Contrails", a natural event that occurs when a jet flies through certain atmospheric conditions (leaving a white trail behind it).

This is not an invitation to debate the existence of Chemtrails, because there is never any compromise on this subject, you either believe, or you don´t. But let´s assume that they are real, what might be their purpose? Some have suggested they are an attempt to control the weather (to create a weather weapon), others have said it is some plan to reduce the population or help with communications. Personally, I feel the answer is less complicated and believe that the compounds found in Chemtrails indicate that it is an attempt to develop a "shield". The metallic compounds found in Chemtrails would be suitable for deflecting some (but not all) of the cosmic radiation we are, or will be experiencing (if the heliosphere continues to weaken).

The appearance of Chemtrails and the discovery of the shrinking "bubble" are quite close together, close enough to think that there may be a connection. Have some scientists reached a conclusion that the problem will get worse and are trying to find some solution?

For those of you who hate "Conspiracy Theories" and trust your governments implicitly, we could say that this discovery is just as puzzling (and surprising) to them as it is for the general public. However, for those of you who are less trusting, maybe there is more to this than we think.

What if the authorities know more about this problem than they are telling and that is the reason for not making it public knowledge sooner? And what if the purpose of releasing more information now is to prepare us in some way? But prepare us for what?

Would our governments really tell us something bad in advance, so that we can all panic and cause chaos? I don´t think so. Isn´t it more likely that there is some other motive for doing that?

This may sound incredible (maybe it is?) and I´m sure it will get the UFO skeptics rushing to the forums to dazzle us with their wit and UFO jokes (yawn). However, for those who keep an open mind, consider this. UFO sightings have increased recently and many people have received "feelings" that contact with aliens is close. Even the Vatican announced that "if" there is life on other planets, these are part of God´s creation too. Is this all a coincidence?

Could it be that "aliens" know of our fate (whatever it may be) long before we do and plan to help when the time comes? Is it really so fantastic to believe that an alien race might care enough about our existence to save us (or some of us)? What if your house was burning down, would you try to save your pets if you could?

If we are not alone in this universe (how can anyone possibly believe we are not), it is fairly certain we are not the most advanced race that exists (although many like to think we are). We may not be considered as "pets", but the chances are we probably don´t rate much higher (to some aliens) than the creatures we consider inferior on our own planet.

Of course, I am only speculating (these same ideas appear in my book), but it is food for thought. Knowing the truth may not change the outcome, but it would be nice to know, and certainly better than living the life of a mushroom (being kept in the dark and believing whatever the authorities tell us). Imagining such a scenario might be difficult for some people to accept, but no more difficult than believing the next President of the US will make a difference to our lives, to me THAT is fantastic!
