Republicans will NOT be voting this year

We are disappointed in the slew of GOP candidates this year so we will not be voting for any of them.

WeŽll be studying the 2008 Presidential and Congressional races for quite some time. However, what is known about this yearŽs race is that the vast majority of Republicans are disappointed at their party, their President, and their Congressional candidates. So this election cycle, the majority of Republicans who have not already left their party will be staying home in protest. Here are a few reasons why the remaining Republicans will not be voting this election cycle:

>> Republicans are embarrassed by the performance of the Bush – Cheney administration. They are unhappy about the economy, the Wall Street Bailout, the war in Iraq, the and way American is viewed around the world. They are humiliated at what Bush has done to their party, their belief system, and their values. So Republicans will not be voting this election cycle.

>> Republicans are disappointed by the promise of John McCain and is his unacceptable running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Republicans donŽt believe that Palin did not violate ethics laws by trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired. So Republicans will not be voting this election cycle.

>> Republicans are disappointed by the way leaders in their party have performed on issues they find most important. This includes abortion and immigration. Republicans controlled the White House, the Supreme Court, and both Houses of Congress for well over 9 years. Yet they did nothing to pass legislation to stop abortion or illegal immigration in this country. Not a single law was passed, nor an important court case decided, on the issue of abortion. The same is true for illegal immigration. The Republican Party base knows that the party leadership wants illegal immigration to continue because illegal immigrants will work for businesses, such as farms and manufacturing, for less than minimum wage without complaining. So the Republican Party leadership has turned a blind eye to illegal immigration. They donŽt believe in the conservative social values they espouse, so the Republican Party base will not be voting this election cycle.

>> Republicans are disappointed at the number of scandals that have plagued their leaders. This includes scandals involving Republicans Larry Craig, Tom DeLay, Bob Ney, Randy "Duke" Cunningham, Scooter Libby, Mark Foley, Bill Frist, Curt Weldon, and Dennis Hastert. So Republicans will not be voting this election cycle.

Let's face the truth: there are few "true conservatives" in the Republican Party. So weŽre leaving the Republican Party and we will either never return or simply remain members of the Independent Party. The Republican Party candidates do not deserve our votes.
