Holiday Anthology Benefits "Toys for Tots

"DYING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND" is a entertaining collection of Holiday mystery and crime stories, published by Wolfmont Press, to benefit the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots™ Program.

Each year, Toys for Tots gives toys to millions of underprivileged children. Sales from this book (the third in the series) will help make that happen.

There were thirteen talented authors who donated stories for this year´s anthology, including Tony Burton, who complied and edited their work.

Their stories range from gritty and serious to whimsical, puzzling or downright funny. Some have a historical setting, but others could happen this holiday season … in your town.

In "A Mom for Christmas," Austin S. Camacho writes about a tough D.C. Private Eye, a little girl, and a missing mother.

"The Alternate Plan" is Allen Ansorge´s "feel good" story about two inept robbers, a cop and a mall Santa.

M. E. Kemp´s protagonist in "A Merry Sleigh Ride" is a clever Puritan woman who uncovers a murderer in a 17th century New England Dutch community.

"On the Sixth Night of Hanukah," is Helen Swartz´s history-and-tradition-rich story about an off duty cop and an observant little girl.

Radine Trees Nehring´s "Something Extra for Christmas" is a touching account of courage and redemption, an elderly couple and a boy with a gun at a shopping mall.

"Gracie´s Gift from the East" written by Gary R. Hoffman, tells about a trio of robbers who settle a score for a kind old woman.

In "Happy Holidays Times Three" Peg Herring writes a complex tale of greed. There´s a shocking twist in the middle and a whopping surprise at the end.

Tony Burton gives a chilling account of a deadly driver´s last holiday drink in "Taking Her Medicine."

Janice Alonso´s "A Christmas Carole" is my favorite! It´s a "pun-filled" Agatha Christie-type "whodunit" with the requisite number of suspects and clues… and an absolutely perfect ending that will crack you up!

"Just Call Me Nick" by Terrie Farley Moran is a Good Santa/Bad Santa story with a dark ironic twist.

A howling blizzard isn´t the only thing chilling in S. M. Harding´s "The Longest Night." There are ancient Scottish traditions, superstitions, ghosts … and murder.

Gayle Bartos-Pool´s light-hearted "In the Nick of Time" tells how Old Nick learns a lesson from a pair of bungling thieves at a ski resort.

In Marian Allen´s "Team Player," trouble in an upscale department store forces a team of veteran employees to pull together.
