The New Year´s Eve Party
Houston, who is frequently called on by the media to comment on infidelity issues in the news says, "If the person you suspect your spouse or significant other of cheating with will be attending the same New Year´s Eve party as the two of you, keep your eyes and ears open for telltale signs. If there´s anything going on between them, their body language and behavior will give them away.
She explains, "It could be as low key as a look, touch, wink, a caress, or calling each other a pet name when they think no one is paying attention. Or it could be as bold as a passionate kiss, heavy petting in a hallway, or sneaking off to a guestroom for a quickie – if they think the coast is clear. One woman walked out on the deck for breath of fresh air and found her husband and another woman locked in a passionate embrace. If your partner disappears for an extended period of time, make a discreet attempt to find out where he or she has gone."
Suspicious Behavior on New Year´s Eve of New Year´s Day
"A cheating spouse or significant other will usually attempt to contact their lover on New Year´s Eve," says Houston. "It may be a phone call, an e-mail, a text message, or even a quick visit to wish them a Happy New Year. If not on New Year´s Eve, the contact will usually take place at their earliest convenience on New Year´s Day."
"One woman surprised her husband at the computer 4 a.m. in the morning sending an incriminating e-mail to his mistress when he thought his wife was fast asleep. Another woman caught her boyfriend in the hallway whispering a romantic voice mail message shortly before midnight to another woman, telling her that even though he couldn´t be with her, he´d be thinking of her as the New Year came in. Unfortunately, there are many stories like these."
