Australian real estate history is being made by a tiny business that´s taking on the big boys of real estate marketing in Australia and winning.
The largely unknown and unheralded business is called PropertyNow and it´s raising some eyebrows as it sits amid Google´s front page in January for the heavy hitting search term real estate while all the while surrounded by the major players in the Australian property market.
To see the small business right up there, with the likes of the five hundred million dollar companies such as realestate.com.au ( REA ) is both amazing and at the same time somewhat refreshing.
Small businesses aren´t supposed to be able to compete for such an intensely competitive internet search phrase and yet the PropertyNow website has been firmly nestled in both the Australian as well as the Australian world results for that phrase over the past 4 weeks.
Proving that it´s no fluke, the cheeky small business has also achieved dozens of search engine rankings for similarly competitive keywords. For example the site is showing up in Google front pages under searches for houses for sale , Australian real estate and many other key phrases.
One can only wonder what the supremos of Australian real estate are thinking about when they see this little aussie battler outranking almost all the major real estate franchises in the land.
When asked about the key to his sites 3 year old, overnight success, the websites owner Andrew Blachut commented " well we can afford to lavish a lot of our total budget on quality seo since we don´t have a large payroll to accommodate"
Mr Blachut further suggested that " what we need now is for someone to come along with a JV or some other proposal so that we can make best use of the new found status and the traffic " He went on to say " the traffic to our site has increased radically of late and we now need to find both wider and better uses for that traffic"
The PropertyNow website is owned and operated by a real estate agent but is rather unique in that it is very sympathetic to the plight of the real estate private seller in Australia.
The website has long had a strong presence in Google searches for niche phrases such as " no commission" and " no commission sale " but the new found rankings for the more generic mainstream search terms, is what has caught the eye of those watching the real estate scene in Australia.
