The Indiana Jones of Background Checks Could be YOU!

Neil Douglas
Indiana is a great state with a rich history. It is a great place to live if you do not mind the winter snows. However, it can be just like anywhere else in that there are people that you may not want to have in your life. Not only do you have to be careful with your own personal life, you have to be extra careful when it comes to children. If someone will be around your kids, or they give you a bad feeling in general, you are within your rights to do a background check to see what comes up.

Some information is going to be free if you know where to look. As with most things you look up online, you can start this with the search engines. Put the first and last name of the person in question in quotation marks and hit the search button. Try the news results as well as the general results. Go ahead and try a few different search engines, as some can bring up things that other ones have missed or have listed differently.

You may also want to try the social and professional network sites that you can find all over the Internet today. They are very popular. Search them by the name of the person, or search by an email address if you have one. Though someone may not put down anything incriminating about themselves in such a public place, you can tell a lot about them by looking through a profile.

Those looking for information on someone from or living in the state of Indiana can go to the state official, government web site to see what information they can dig up there. Once there, go to the Public safety tab to look through your options. On the top left side of the page you should see some great options including a limited criminal history check, sex and violent offender registry search, and the offender public information search.

You can see what other sites can offer in the way of free Indiana background checks as well. Some of these can give you some free information, but can also give you a very complete picture of someone's past for a fee. Think of it as saving yourself time and also as knowing all there is to know. You won't be left thinking that you missed something that way.
