Surprise, AZ - The Surprise, Arizona, police department was awarded a $15,000 federal grant through the governor's office of highway safety.
The goal of the program is to try to reduce the number of DUI related fatalities in Arizona.
Arizona DUI law is already the most strict in the nation.
The local Surprise justice system has undergone a major overhaul in the past couple of years.
Now in a new and spectacular courthouse, the Surprise Municipal Court is an example for courts around world. Each courtroom is wired with state of the art components, making modern, computer assisted trials possible.
