A Quick Mage Gold Farming Guide for World of Warcraft

Emma Martin
Everyone playing World of Warcraft always needs more gold and usually the best tips are ones that are related directly to your character class as each class is better at some things than others. So what I've put together for you here is a short Mage gold farming guide to get you on the right track.

Most of these gold making tips will work best if you are between level 50 and 70 and you should keep in mind that a lot of times gold farming tips don't work exactly the same on every server. Some item that might make me good gold in the Auction House on my server could be really cheap on yours. So adjust your game-play accordingly.

1. Do your Daily Quests

If your Mage is already level 70, the best way to make more gold, regardless of what type of mage you are, is to do your daily quests. You can do up to 25 Dailies a day for each of your characters. So if you have some alts at level 70, make sure they run them too. There seriously is no easier way to make gold, so make sure you do it!

2. Pick your Profession Wisely

For Mages, herbalism and alchemy are a good combo and I think works out being more gold-making efficient than taking Enchanting with Herbalism. The Herbalism/Alchemy combo gives you the skills to make potions and elixirs that you can sell. Flasks bring decent money too. And you'll be able to sell off any of the herbs you've gathered that you don't need. Also, any time you need quick cash, just go out and gather herbs.

3. Good Mage Grinding Spots

Netherstorm - the Sunfury mobs drop pretty good vendor trash, plenty of netherweave, sunfury signets and greens. All are easy to sell. Try grinding mobs near the Manaforges for the best loot.

Other good grinding spots for cash are Scarlet Monastery, the Legion Holds and Dire Maul East. If you have a flying mount already, head over to Elemental Plateau and grind primals, then sell them.

Now, if you're just getting ready to roll a new Mage, a Mage leveling guide will also be helpful in making sure you get the right stats from the start, as well as providing a step-by-step walk-through and advice on gold-making too. If your focus is purely gold though, a pure WoW gold guide should help you out with everything you need to know, regardless of character class.
