Lingering peace talks is risking life in Middle-East

Joe Fleishman
Some western leaders have expressed their frustrations about US lead peace process in the middle-east. Western leaders are thinking US policy is not working anymore and it creates deadlock. They have also urged to find a new solution for the middle-east.

May be western leaders are right but one of the basic condition for the peace process is to understand the real situation here. Palestinians are asking free sovereign state for them on the other hand Israelis do not want to let it happen. There are many theories but these are the basics. Ignoring the necessity of Palestinian state will never bring any peace in the region which Netanyahu´s new government is trying to evade. This is not a cleaver act, rather cheap political stunts.

It is important that at least one Israeli government is bold enough to take a proper decision. The disputed compound shelters the Dome of the Rock (Omar Mosque) and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, as well as the Western Wall which is the holiest site for the Jews –can come under a special status which will accessible from both countries (Israel and Palestine). At this point both Israelis & Palestinians should make some compromise. It is very essential to do some sacrifice from the both side for the greater interest of the people of the region.

Israel should behave like a good neighbor to its Arab neighbors. It is the challenge of the twenty first century for Israeli government. It is very woeful that most of its Arab neighbors don´t trust Israel. It is living like a fish out of water. Israel is giving its people an uncertain future.

It is true that US position in this middle-east issue was never accepted as neutral. US backed peace process has always given Israel some extra benefit. Still United States failed to keep the peace process in to the proper track. It derailed so often, over and over again its future came under threat. Now ultimately Israel step back from its older position. Probably US will introduce another new deal for middle-east peace. No body knows when all these endless "Process" will finally be over.

Middle-east peace is not an issue between for Israelis and Palestinians it´s an issue of the people of the whole region. As I have mentioned earlier, Israel has tough relation with its neighbors. No body is considers Israel a good friendly neighborhood country. It is neither good for Israel not for any of its neighbor. All the leaders of the Muslim nations are always under strong political pressure not to compromise with Israel. It makes Israel almost isolated from the Muslim world and pushed Israeli people under jeopardy not only in the occupied territory but allover the world as well.

It will surely happen in any time -only question is when. Will it happen today or tomorrow –or years from now? As long as this so called peace process will go –the peace will not come. How many lives you can save is depending on how quick you can realize the facts. Leaders should do whatever they ought to do or let the innocent people die in a street –without any warning, the ultimate price of lingering peace talks.
