Obituaries
Use this form to
place an obituary with the American Chronicle
family of online publications. The cost is a
single, one-time fee of $4.99 via PayPal. The
obituary will appear indefinitely in all 21 of
our online news magazines for the single,
one-time total fee of $4.99. No additional fees
will be charged. The American Chronicle family
of online publications currently enjoys a
readership of nearly 2 million annually.
Obituaries will be promptly posted to our
Obituary Page.
Obituaries may be no more than
5,000 characters (approx. 1,000 words) and may be
edited for newspaper style, spelling,
standardized abbreviations and proper
punctuation. Obituary authors are solely responsible
for the accuracy and truthfulness of the
obituaries. Use the form below to submit an obituary.
When drafting an obituary,
prepare your draft in a word-processing
application using a spell-check and a grammar
check before submission. Obituary writers may want to collect and include the following
information:
- First
name, middle name, and last name of the
deceased
- Age at
time of death
- City and
state of death where the deceased lived
- Cause of
death
- Place of
death, such as at home, hospital or nursing
facility, or simply name of city
- Date of
death; do not include time of death and use
a calendar date rather than the day of the
week
- Occupation
- list job title or function, name of
company and number of years employed at that
company; you may list more than one
occupation if applicable and year of
retirement
- Community
involvement - list associations and
organizations, honors, clubs, memberships,
volunteer work, and other note-worthy
accomplishments
- Academic
achievements - list schools attended in
reverse order, degrees attained, and
publications if note-worthy
- Military
service (dates and branch of service and
years served)
- Spouse
(spouse's name, year of marriage. May also
say the maiden name and state of origin. If
spouse deceased, make the statement that
"S/he was preceded in death by ....")
- Other
survivors (list in order of birth by name
and city: parents, children, grandchildren,
step-children, brothers and sisters, cousins)
- Religious
affiliation
- Place and
time of service (name of funeral home,
address, dates, viewing hours; date, time,
and location of funeral service if different
from viewing)

Contributions and other memorials ("Send to"
and "In memory of" information)
- Other
important information
